ARAMCO- ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS NEEDED – CAPE TOWN WORKSHOP

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidate must possess BS Degree in Electrical Engineering as a minimum
  • Fifteen (15) years’ experience in the Design of electrical systems for projects related to Utilities and non-industrial facility (Office Buildings, Recreational Facilities, Food Courts and Dinning Areas, Schools as well as Residential Houses).
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Must have full knowledge of engineering practices, economic principles, calculation methods, detail design requirements and European and US standards and Specifications.
  • Registered and recognized as an Electrical Engineer by a professional engineering organization.
  • AutoCAD or Micro station experience.
  • BIM experience is a plus.
  • Professional attitude, pleasant personality and dedicated individual are desired.

SERVICE DESCRIPTION

  • Perform the function of Electrical Design Engineer for utilities and non-industrial facility projects related to AC Plants, water Plants, office buildings, residential houses as well as recreation and non- residential facilities.
  • Assess projects, identify design requirements and prepare projects’ scope outline.
  • Prepare all required electrical design and engineering drawings (construction drawings) for building trades; residential, commercial, institutional, office facilities, AC plants, and water plants in accordance with ANSI, IEC, IEEE and NFPA codes and standards. The drawings will include, but not limited to, one-line diagrams, load calculations, power layouts, lighting layouts, grounding and lightning protection layout. It will also include sizing of transformers, cables and circuit breakers.
  • Select electrical material with its specifications that meet project objectives, material will include type of MV and LV: switchgear, switchboards, MCC, panel boards and DC power supply.
  • Review and evaluate Construction Variation Orders to ensure full compliance with Standards and recommend cost effective solutions whenever applicable.
  • Review 30, 60 and 90 % Design packages for new electrical systems and equipment including Switchgear, Breaker Sizing, Switchboards, Distribution networks, lighting and power outlets including drawings, detail scope of work, Bill of Materials, and preliminary cost estimates.
  • Determine all required design elements necessary for code compliance.
  • Work closely with scope writers to develop projects scope of work including technical documents and materials’ specifications.
  • Coordinate the project development and lead a group of professionals.
  • Carryout necessary electrical studies (arc flash, load flow, short circuit, motor stating, and protection coordination), lighting calculations, both manually and through use of software such as ETAP, dialux and other acceptable software.
  • Writes technical reports and provides solution to complex technical problems.
  • Provides expert advice, technical solutions, and assistance during design, engineering and construction phases.
  • Prepare material take-offs for the work as applicable and coordinate with Cost Engineers on the development of capital project estimates.
  • Work closely with other disciplines within the division/unit to meet projects design objectives
  • Carry out analysis of major equipment selected in the design package to ensure it meets operation and maintenance requirements with special emphasis on energy conservation and reliability.
