SENIOR 4-STROKE ENGINE DESIGN ENGINEER

Work Location: Saudi Arabia

Experience: Minimum of 7 years experience working a European country

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.

Professional Qualifications

  • Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) and/or CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) is preferred.

Person Specification

  • Proficient in advanced CAD software, mechanical design principles, tolerancing, and design for manufacture.
  • Strong knowledge of licensor design standards, IMO regulations, and classification society requirements.
  • Sound understanding of materials engineering and material selection.
  • Proven project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering systems such as PLM, ERP, and FEA software.
  • Effective technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience mentoring junior engineers and driving continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the development of 2D/3D CAD models and establish design and drawing standards in line with licensor requirements.
  • Liaise with the licensor and technical partners to resolve engineering issues and support design development.
  • Design structural engine components, ensuring robust and manufacturable solutions.
  • Oversee CAD models, engineering drawings, and parts lists to ensure compliance and support timely procurement.
  • Provide technical support during customer engagements, including engine selection and Extent of Delivery (EOD) preparation.
  • Lead the resolution of major production and quality issues, including Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) and the List of Differences (LOD).
  • Identify and implement design improvements to enhance cost efficiency, material utilisation, and production performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the design team.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
